On behalf of the IPDFA team, we hope your year 2014 is off to a great start, and has seen you already on the way to achieving some of your professional and personal pole goals.

For me personally, there has been some very exciting new adventures and challenges. I am a brand new Mommy! My husband and I were delighted to welcome little Kaito at the start of March, and so has begun a new World of nappy changes, sleepless nights, sleep-walking days, and more moments than I can count where I feel like my heart is going to burst with joy and love.

As a result of learning to be a Mommy (and helping Kaito learn to be a baby), I am on maternity leave and will be for the next two months. However, our team including Vee Lea (for IPDFA Instructors Courses), Elaine Ip and Kerry van der Helm are available to assist with your enquiries.

We are still keen to hear from volunteers who are happy to donate just a few hours of their time to help create a stronger industry.

If you can assist in any of the below areas, please send me an email. –

  • IPC Judging Panel
  • IPDFA Awards Panel

The brand new edition of IPDFA’s Pole Position is back in stock after selling within a matter of days of its launch at IPC.

IPDFA’s Pole Position is a very necessary and important tool in the pole dancing industry. As a very new sport and art form, it is developing and evolving so quickly, that it is important for us, as the International Pole Industry Association, to stay up to date with all of the new moves and transitions that are constantly being created. This edition of Pole Position is especially innovative as it also clearly demonstrates which moves and transitions are taught in which IPDFA instructor course. IPDFA’s Pole Position is an important linking tool to be used between instructors and students, and judges and competitors.

Stay tuned for the announcement of the new dates and venues for in-studio IPDFA Instructor Courses.

In the meantime, you can also sign up for our online courses, which you can complete in your own time from anywhere in the World.

IPDFA provides membership to instructors, giving them opportunities for training courses with a number of approved academic and commercial organisations, and when they have qualified they can send their certificates to be included in the IPDFA Register, or to have their membership upgraded with continuing education courses. Those courses provides 15 Continuing Education Units and Accreditation with Pole Fitness Australia. For more information:

We are thrilled to announce the launch of a brand new glossy magazine, called Volare Pole and Aerial Arts. This quarterly magazine is published and edited by IPDFA’s very own publicist – Kerry van der Helm. While it is endorsed by the IPDFA and contains images and news from us, it also supports all other credible associations in the industry.

The debut issue was launched at the start of March, and features International Pole Championship 2013 Ultimate Champion, Natasha Wang, as well as other spectacular artists and IPC competitors including Kelly Yvonne, Alessandra Marchetti, Flying Laura, Suzie Q and Toby J, Marion Crampe and Joanna Littlewood-Johnson. There are also interesting articles on Fawnia Dietrich’s pole journey, Giulia Poilenti, and Cindy Cooijmans from Pole Move Box talking terminology.

Volare offers a completely fresh approach to a phenomenal international industry that is constantly creating and evolving. Experience the pole and aerial arts industry from the perspective of an artist, a competitor, a student, a studio owner/instructor, and those who work on the creative process behind the scenes.
